Was Muhammad a cross dresser?

According to the Aisha Bewley translation of Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith No 2442, Muhammad received revelations while in Aisha's garment.

However, the same hadith in the Hilali - Khan translation says something else.

"...Do not hurt me regarding Aisha, as the Divine Inspirations do not come to me on any of the BEDS except that of Aisha.."

You can read the Hadith in the following link.

Now, we have a problem. Who was correct? Aisha Bewley, or Hilali and Khan?

This can be solved easily, by using the Hilali - Khan translation itself. Here's how.

The above linked site (ie sunnah.com) uses the Hilali - Khan translation. In that translation, in the linked hadith, the word for "ثوب" is "beds".

However, in other Hadiths of the SAME translation, different forms of the word "ثوب" have been translated as different forms of the word "garments".

The following link is the search result for the word "ثوب" from the same site.

https://sunnah.com/search?q=%D8%AB%D9%88%D8%A8

The reason I linked the search result here instead of stating the results, was for two reasons.

 1.  It's harder proof when it comes directly from the site.

 2. For those who can't read arabic, it might be hard to see forms of the arabic word "ثوب". But when it's searched on the site itself, the word and it's different forms, come up HIGHLIGHTED.

As you can see in the above link, the forms of the word "ثوب" always means something about a garment, and not about a bed, or beds, except in the linked hadith, in which it's translated as "beds".

However, seeing what it'll mean when it's translated as "garment", we can understand why the translators did that. It'd have been embarrassing to write that Muhammad was receiving revelations while wearing Aisha's garment, so they added a different word ie "beds".

Quite dishonest, if you ask me. Why hide facts about own prophet?

Isn't this a kind of Islamophobia?
